Bloat Buster: Homemade Ginger Tea

In my own health journey, i've dealt with a lot of inflammation. Many times after a meal, I will find myself bloated for seemingly no reason at all. After years of trial and error, I have been able to decipher which foods make me bloated and how to avoid bloating at all costs. One of the things I drink to help with bloating and digestion is homemade ginger tea! I love ginger SO MUCH and if you ever goto sushi with me, you will hear me ask the server for more ginger many times. :)

Ginger is an amazing anti-inflammatory food and its also known to fight infection, assist in weightless, and clears sinuses. As one of my weekly rituals, I will brew a ton of ginger tea and then put it in mason jars to drink throughout the week. I usually drink ginger tea warm or iced after a meal and it does wonders for me! I like to make mine extra concentrated so that I can dilute the tea with water to make it last longer!

Brewing is simple: I bring about 3 mason jars full of water to a boil (Mason Jars is how I measure how much water to boil) and then I add peeled and sliced pieces of organic ginger (About 10-15 small pieces). I turn off the stove and let the ginger soak into the water for about 15-20 minutes. Once the water cools, I will pour it into mason jars, put on the lids, and cool them in the refrigerator! I love the taste of ginger so I don't like to add anything extra but if you want, you can add a squeeze of lemon, teaspoon of honey, and a pinch of turmeric and that will make a yummy ginger tonic!

Try it out and let me know what you think!
